First Series Win at Home!

The punishing loss on Tuesday seems to continue to be a motivating factor in the Winder’s play…they won their last three games at TEP to – FINALLY – win a series at home!  Last night’s final score was 7 to 5…if ever there was a good night for post-game fireworks, last night surely met the criteria.  Over 6,100 fans witnessed effective pitching from Billy Buckner, an outstanding save by Jailen Peguero, and strong offensive production from the starting line up (even if we didn’t watch any hit leave the yard).  Both the Vegas 51s and the Winders had 12 hits and one error each.  Altogether satisfying results!

The boys have moved on to Fresno, where they’ll play four against the Grizzlies.  After a day off, they’ll face these 51s again in their park for four before returning to TEP to face the River Cats and Sky Sox in the first homestand of June.  As always you can catch away games on COOL 1450AM or in streaming audio off the Sidewinder’s official website.  Tonight’s game will be at 7:05pm.

Transaction Update.  Brandon Medders cleared waivers (meaning no other club picked him up), so he’ll join the Sidewinders on this road trip.  To make room for him on our roster, the D-Back organization sent reliever Abe Woody back to AA Mobile.
