Only one more month before the Tucson Padres open their 2012 season at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium!  And baseball is definitely back in the air, with Spring Training going full-speed ahead in both the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues.  Although the season hasn’t been as apparent here in Tucson to this point, the T-Pads will be hosting THREE Spring Training games at Kino.  I previously posted about two of the three games…there will also be a game featuring the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners on Friday, March 16th at 1:05pm.  Tickets for all three games are available online (see T-Pad link to left)…they will open up to telephonic and box office sales tomorrow as well.

To get a peek at who the San Diego Padres invited to camp, check out this link:  Roster    I was happy to see a number of kids we “know” from the 2011 Tucson team are getting a chance to try out for the Big Club this Spring (relieved that the Padres didn’t trade EVERYONE away!).

One more item to whet your appetite for all things baseball…a really neat clip (approximately 5-minutes long) showing how baseballs are made.  I’d never seen this before:  it’s quite remarkable!  Making_Baseballs

Like the Tucson Padres!  If you’re a Tucson baseball fan and have a Facebook account, I’d recommend you “LIKE” the Tucson Padres page. Not only will they keep you up-to-date on important news, but during the AAA season they often post ballpark “specials” just for Facebook fans!  It’s a win-win!
