Tacoma Wins Series Finale

There are times when you just have to sit back and tip your cap to the opposing team (or, in this case, a specific player on the opposing team) for an outstanding performance in a game.  In yesterday’s game versus the Tacoma Rainiers, the T-Pads were absolutely stymied by starting pitcher, Erasmo Ramirez.  Ramirez tossed over seven innings…through the first six Tucson was able to get only two hits.  His manager pulled him in the eighth after he finally allowed a run (the only one Tucson would get yesterday) to score.  Final line for Erasmo:  7 1/3 innings, one run on six hits and no walks (though he did hit a batter).  Six Ks.  Nice work!  Tucson starter, Kip Wells, took his first loss since joining the T-Pads:  five innings, four earned runs on seven hits (one was a solo homer), a wild pitch, and two walks.  Two Ks.  Not a horrible line.  But even better was the very impressive relief appearance by new T-Pad, Chris Haney.  Only recently called up to AAA, Haney went three scoreless innings!  He allowed three hits and one walk – he struck out four.  Very impressive AAA debut for Chris!   Tough day for Tucson’s offense:  Matt Clark, Cody Decker, and Beamer Weems were the only Padres to get more than one hit (each had two).  Logan Forsythe suffered the most frustrating day:  up to bat four times; struck out four times (he also committed Tucson’s only charged error in the game).  Final Score:  Tucson 1; Tacoma 4.

Transactions and Injury Report.  Nothing new to report affecting the T-Pads (per se) today.  However, I did discover that James Darnell – who started the season with Tucson – has been transferred from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL with the Parent Unit.

T-Pads Are Back Home!   Tucson has returned to Kino for a four-game stand against the Las Vegas 51s (AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays).  Don’t forget you can get into the ballpark for free every Tuesday with a ticket from your local eegee’s!  You can check all of the promotions for this homestand here .
