Fun-Filled Homestand – and Silent Auction! – Begins Friday Night!   Our Pads are in New Mexico to face the Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) for a DH today before they return to Tucson on Friday, August 10th (off-day tomorrow).    Remember you can catch ALL Tucson Padres games this season on Tucson’s own Tejano 1600 AM (also available on the web off the Tucson Padres website).  Beginning Friday, the T-Pads will play four night games here at home against one of the best teams in the PCL, the American Conference North Division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers (KC Royals AAA affiliate).  There will be a special giveaway for fans Friday night at Kino Stadium…the first 2,000 kids (16 years and younger) through the gates with paid admission will receive a Trevor Hoffman Bobblehead!

Trevor Hoffman Bobblehead Giveaway – Friday Night at Kino Stadium!

And don’t forget that the Famous San Diego Chicken will be performing for fans at the ballpark on Saturday night.  You don’t want to miss this chance to see the most famous mascot in all of baseball!  Additionally, the wives and girlfriends of the Tucson Padres players will be hosting a very special Silent Auction on both Friday and Saturday night, proceeds of which will go to the families of those affected by the horrific theater shooting in Aurora CO.  Led by Bear Bay’s wife, Kelly, these tireless women will be offering a ton of wonderful items for fans to bid upon.  Here is a very partial list of some of the great items you can bid on:  Tucson Museum of Art membership; Throwing out the first pitch at a game; One inning of play-by-play on air with Tim Hagerty; 2-night stay at The Greens at Ventana Canyon; Nolan Ryan signed baseball (this was donated by our opponents at Round Rock…isn’t that awesome?!); Four Reserved Floor seats to the October 17th Brad Paisley (w/special guests Scotty McCreery and The Band Perry) concert in Phoenix; and (of course) lots of signed memorabilia (cards, hats, baseballs, bats, batting gloves, pictures, t-shirts, etc) from the Tucson & San Diego Padres players.  Help those who have suffered tremendous loss – and get yourself some great stuff!  At Kino Stadium this weekend!

Are the T-Pads still playing in September? I think I should take my folks to a game. (I almost said match!)

Sadly, the minor league season ends after Labor Day. Of course, the Diamondbacks will still be playing…
